In 1989 the remains of an extended logboat were found in Zeewolde. The fragment measures 5.5 by 2.5 by 0.75 meters. Parts of the bottom have been preserved, without a clear front or back side being distinguishable. The logboat according to the c14 date from around 900.

The boat was probably extended with one or two strakes to create a higher freeboard. This can be deduced from the flat bent shape of the bottom. Pin holes for fixing the trusses were found.

Expanded log boats were made by heating the log using fire, so that it could be manipulated into another shape. They were often extended to heighten the freeboard with extra straks.
