History
The site Zorrita La Tabla has been dated between 1696 and 1723, because of the date on a tobacco box (1696) and because of money found at the site (1723, Laird of copper from the Netherlands).
Description
Archaeological site composed by remains of a shipwreck with six guns. Two are covered with an odic protection, two are partially covered for coralline formations and one more completely covered. There are iron shots and ballast stones.
- Maximum extension of the site: axis N - S = 25 m; axis E - W = 33 m
- Area: 825 m2
Status
The site was partly damaged by archaeological excavations in 1994 and 1997 (11 x 6 x 0.4 m). There is present erosion of seabed and biological deterioration.
