Propulsion : 12 kampon boilers, driving 4 steam turbines.
Displacing 72,800tonnes at full load.
Armed with nine 46cm (18.1inch) main guns.
Yamato's keel was laid down at the Kure naval Arsenal in Hiroshima in 1937.
