History
The Schollevaar departed on 24-12-1667 from Rotterdam.
The ship was wrecked at the coast of Africa about 9 miles north of the Cape on 31-05-1668.
The ship was run ashore by the drunken skipper in a north-westerly gale. Unfortunately, two people drowned in the process, with one of the casualties being the skipper himself.
The Schollevaar might be the same wreck as the Yzerfontein cannon wreck, but further research needs to be done.
