Part of the dug-out bottom of an probably extended log-boat was discovered in 2009. It was found in a well (vnr 684). A wood sample was dendrochronologically dated to 612 +/-7 AD, making this vessel the earliest medieval ship find so far in the Netherlands. The wood sample matches with a calendar from the German Rhine land (EUDLIM01). The fragment of the bottom of the logboat suggests it was the extended part of an extended logboat. The dug out was the basis (bottom part) of the boat. Comparable extended log boat The Utrecht 1.
