uilt by Joost Pot, Vlaardingen. in 1916 and owned at the time of her loss by P. Doelman, Maasluis, was a Dutch fishing vessel (sail) of 80 tons.

On May 17th, 1917, Mercurius was scuttled by the German submarine UC-71 (Hugo Thielmann), 17 miles northwest from Noordwijk. There were no casualties.
