History

On March 28th, 1917, Martchiena departed Le Havre via Valerie-en-Caux to Rotterdam with stone and lime. She arrived at Valérie-en-Caux and continued to Rotterdam on May 5th. Since then she was reported missing.

After the war, her fate was known: on May 9th, 1917, Marchiena was sunk by the German submarine UC-17 off Beachy Head.
