By the flute Warmont captured small Chinese junk. She was manned with 18 Dutch and a number of Chinese seamen. She took part in the Battle of Liaoluo Bay October 22, 1633.

Putman was defeated by the Chinese fleet that had partly adopted European techniques. Admiral Zheng used large war junks as fireships. The Dutch did not expect this and reacted too late.

Putman lost 3 of his 9 ships and had to retreat. The Broekerhaven en de Sloten were buirnt in ther battle. The Klein Warmont could escape but capseized in open sea on her retreat to Taiwan.
