WIC ship lost near England

The Haas was a yacht of the Dutch West India Company (WIC ) and belonged to the fleet under command of admiral Jol in 1640. After a violent storm on 11 September 1640, it drifted into Old Bahama Channel away from Cuba after a. The fleet was dispersed and de Haas tried to get back to the Netherlands. On the 28th of November it reached the English shore near Lundey island. There the ship sank, yet the crew was saved.
