History
The Drie Handelaars was leased by the VOC from Emanuel Fredrik Wirth, Amsterdam.
Description
The Drie Handelaars was bound from Ceylon under charter from the VOC. The vessel was lost, however, when she dragged her anchors in a south easterly gale off of Muizenberg and was wrecked on the rocks. Sources are conflicted about whether the skipper was Kornelis de Vries or Jan Kleijn
Fortunately, no lives lost were lost during the incident.
