History
The Drie Handelaars was leased by the VOC from Emanuel Fredrik Wirth in Amsterdam.
While in the service of the VOC, the Drie Handelaars sailed from Ceylon. The vessel was lost, however, when she dragged her anchors in a south easterly gale off of Muizenberg and was wrecked on the rocks. Fortunately, no lives lost were lost during the incident.
Sources are conflicted about whether the skipper was Kornelis de Vries or Jan Kleijn
