History

The Dutch yacht Caroline had het home port at Scheveningen. On 16 January 1959, around 23:00, the yacht ran aground in low tide at beach head 6 in Bredene. This caused the hull to tear. Almost immediately, the vessel began to flood. The people on board sent a distress signal. The yacht sank around midnight, but the people on board were rescued by the tug Zeetijger.
