The Wimmenum was a fluyt ship. The Wimmenum was in use from 1669 until 1681.
The fluyt ship was a very successful Dutch designed ship. The ship was very cheaply built, had little or no armament and therefor more cargo space. It could be sailed with a smaller crew than usual. Hence the success of the fluyt. They were mainly used in Europe (Baltic Sea trade).
