History

The Serooskerke was a yacht outfitted by the Zeeland Chamber of the WIC (Dutch West India Company).

The yacht (also referred to as a frigate) departed for Elmina in late 1684. There, the ship was deployed to patrol and combat smuggling. On February 1, 1686, the yacht was overpowered or sunk by interlopers.
Some of the crew and the captain later returned to the Ntherlands. Upon his return, the captain, Huibrecht Pieters Court, requested payment of his outstanding wages.**
