stepping stones of maritime history

History

The Doffer was a yacht in the service of the Dutch West India Company WIC). It appears a number of times in the sources. In 1636 it is referenced as a galiot, taking supplies from Recife to the area around Itamaracá, during the hostilities between the Dutch and the Portuguese in Brazil. The last time we encounter it is in a ship's list from Recife from 1639.
