stepping stones of maritime history

The Schapenjacht was a wooden ship that was constructed in the Cape and was wrecked by a north-westerly gale on Robben Island. Not much else is known about this vessel.

The image in this entry is a drawing of Robben Island from the same period and which also shows the location of another wreck: De Walvis.

The ship was completely dismantled after it wrecked.
